Overview
Barbados is a Caribbean island located in the Atlantic Ocean, known for its natural beauty, white sandy beaches, and crystal-clear waters. It is an independent nation that is part of the Lesser Antilles and is situated to the east of the Caribbean Sea, north of Venezuela. Its capital is Bridgetown, located on the southwestern coast of the island.
The country has a rich history and a unique cultural mix due to its colonial past under British rule, which is reflected in its official language (English), its legal system, and its traditions. Barbados gained its independence from the United Kingdom in 1966, although it still maintains strong ties to the British monarchy as part of the Commonwealth.
